Product Description

Fonteino thick-layer glazeoffers long-lasting protection for native and tropical coniferous and deciduous woods with a brilliant appearance and high UV resistance. Due to water-based/low-pollutant technology, it is also ideal for use indoors and even for children's toys. The glaze is particularly easy and pleasant to work with. In addition, the thick-layer glaze is drip-resistant, highly water and dirt-repellent, moisture-regulating and protects the wood from drying out.

Fonteino thick-layer glaze is ideal as a glaze for dimensionally stable wooden components, such as windows and doors.

Scope:Wood inside and outside; as a new coat, intermediate and final coat; for facade cladding, bridges & walkways, roof overhangs, fences, shutters & balcony railings, privacy screens etc.

Important! For optimal results, you need two coats. Make sure that the first coat is completely dry before applying a second coat!

Preparation:

First, remove loose paint particles as well as unstable old paints and coatings and clean them (mechanically or with a suitable paint stripper).

The surface must be clean, dry and free of grease. To do this, thoroughly pre-clean the surface to be coated using wood cleaner and roughen it with sandpaper or a sanding sponge.

To ensure that the glaze adheres well, sweep the sanding dust off the surfaces thoroughly after sanding.

  • Important! Not suitable for coating floor surfaces (terraces, wooden decks, etc.)

Glaze application:

  • 🔵 Stir well before use!
  • 🔵 Check the colour accuracy by applying a test coat BEFORE use!

The glaze is applied with a wide, flat brush. Try to apply a thin, even coat in the direction of the wood grain. Make sure to use high-quality painting tools to achieve a perfect result.

After the first layer of glaze has dried, an intermediate sanding is carried out (grain size 180). Then remove the sanding dust and apply a second coat of glaze.

Important instructions:

  • 🔵 Only use at temperatures above 5° Celsius!
  • 🔵Drying time: Dust dry: approx. 1 hour; Can be painted over: approx. 8 hours.

IMPORTANT!If the temperature is too low, the humidity is too high or the maximum layer thickness is exceeded, the drying process can be significantly delayed! If the temperature is too high or the humidity is too low, the paint will dry too quickly.

  • 🔵 During processing/dryingProtect surfaces from rain, wind, sunlight and condensation.
  • 🔵 Dilution:The glaze is ready to use and therefore does not require thinning. If thinning is desired, dilute with up to 10% water.
